Studying a Master's in Information Technology from the University of Auckland
I am Shardul Anagal, studying a Master's in Information Technology from the University of Auckland. I attended Garud Bharari program that took place in Pune last year, during my application process. Garud Bharari was an event that connected all the students to their respective alumni network and their respective country Sewa International co-ordinator. That’s how Vishram ji received my number and he contacted me.
When Vishram ji got to know that I was coming here, he helped me get from the airport to my home. Then, the next few days, many members of the Sewa International NZ parivar had prepared lunch and dinner for me, so that I could rest for a few days after arrival. Some of them brought tiffin at home, while some took me to their home.
After that, Vishram Ji informed me about the Hindu Heritage Camp. There were many Indian Hindu families and students of my age. I got to know them well and learned many new things about the Hindu Sayyasavak Sangh.
Overall, I was in the Indian environment for a few days after I came here from India. Vishram Ji and Sewa International helped me a lot here.
I would highly recommend to join with Sewa International.

Moving to a new country is never easy, especially when you are doing it alone and everything around you is unfamiliar. I feel extremely fortunate to have had the support and guidance of Garud Bharari right from the beginning of my journey to New Zealand. His help made my transition smoother and far less overwhelming than I ever imagined.
Before I even set foot in New Zealand, Garud Bharari team had already started assisting me by sharing valuable details about the country, the culture, lifestyle, and practical aspects like weather, travel, accommodation options, and what to expect as an international student. This information gave me a sense of direction and helped me mentally prepare for the changes ahead. His insights were not only helpful but also comforting, as they came from someone who had already walked the same path and understood the challenges newcomers face.
Once I arrived in New Zealand, support didn’t stop—it only grew stronger. Members of Garud bharari team personally ensured that I settled in well. I was genuinely touched when the team arranged lunch and dinner for me for three whole days after my arrival. In those initial days, when everything felt new and unfamiliar, that gesture provided not just food but warmth, care, and a feeling of being looked after. It made a huge difference to me emotionally and helped me feel at home in a foreign place.
Garud Bharari team went above and beyond by introducing me to several people who work with HSS (Helping Student Support), a group that assists newly arrived international students. Through these introductions, I quickly became part of a helpful community that is always ready to answer questions, guide students, and offer support whenever needed. These connections have proven to be incredibly valuable, both practically and emotionally, as they helped me build a support network in a country where I initially knew no one.
It is rare to find someone who selflessly helps others, especially with such consistency and sincerity. Garud Bharari team’s willingness to assist without expecting anything in return is a quality I truly admire. It played a key role in making my early days in New Zealand not just manageable but actually enjoyable. Team’s kindness, generosity, and constant presence gave me a sense of security and encouragement to step out of my comfort zone and start building my life here with confidence.
I am sincerely grateful to Garud Bharari for everything it has done for me. Team has been more than just a guide; it has been a friend, a mentor, and a dependable support system. I strongly believe that students like me can thrive much better with people like this team around, and I hope more newcomers are fortunate enough to experience the kind of help and hospitality the team offers so wholeheartedly.

I am deeply grateful to Sewa International NZ (SINZ) for the unwavering support and warm welcome they have extended to me both before and after my arrival in Auckland. From the very beginning, while I was still in India preparing for my move, I was in touch with Vishramji and Aniruddhaji. Their proactive communication and constant assurance gave me immense peace of mind during a time that is often filled with uncertainty. They went out of their way to ensure that accommodation was arranged well in advance so that I wouldn’t have to worry about it upon arrival.
When I landed in Auckland, I was warmly received at the airport by Vishramji and Aniruddhaji, who not only greeted me with a smile but also ensured I reached my accommodation safely. What stood out to me most was their continued support even after I had settled in. They made the entire transition smooth and stress-free.
In my very first week in Auckland, the sense of belonging that SINZ fostered was remarkable. Several SINZ members invited me to their homes for dinner and made me feel part of a larger family. This network not only provided emotional comfort but also helped me establish meaningful connections in a new country.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have been welcomed into the SINZ family. Their dedication, warmth, and spirit of service have made my journey to Auckland not just easier, but meaningful. I look forward to continuing my involvement and giving back to the community in any way I can.
